Because tap water contains chlorine and heavy metals it is toxic and aggressive to fishes delicate skin and gill membranes.

Fresh Start rapidly removes these toxic chemicals and minerals and contains a natural colloid which coats the fish with a protective barrier.

Many of the nutrients, which are essential for healthy plant growth, are not present in the artificial aquarium environment. Due to a special formulation, which omits nitrates and supplies the correct balance of trace elements, Flora Boost will ensure optimum plant growth without stimulating algal problems.

Excessive light or nurtrients stimulate an unsightly and potentially dangerous algae bloom in aquariums, which can affect oxygen and pH levels, making the water highly alkaline and thus unsuitable for fish.

Green Away clumps the individual suspended particles together so that they become trapped in the filter or sink to the bottom. It does not remove filamentous algae.

Use Green Away when water becomes cloudy with brown colouration or green algae.

'Ich', or white spot is the most common problem in aquariums. This treatment eliminates both freshwater white spot (Ichthyophtirius) and marine white spot (Cryptocaryon sp.).

Use Anti White Spot if your fish show the following symptoms:

1 Flicking and rubbing against objects.

2 Rapid gill movements.

3 White spots (sugar grain size) on body or fins.

Fish often carry a small population of skin and gill parasites. When fish are stressed, this population will rapidly increase, endangering the fish's life.

Anti Slime & Velvet will eradicate velvet (Oodinium and Amyloodinium sp.), flukes (Dactylogyrus and Gyrodactylus sp.) and protozoan parasites (Chilodonella, Ichthyobodo (Costia), Trichodina, Brooklynella sp.).

Use Anti Slime & Velvet if your fish show any of the following symptoms:

1 Flicking and rubbing against oblects.

2 Rapid gill movements.

3 Hanging close to the surface of the water.

4 Red, irritated areas of skin.

5 Opaque white/grey patches of slime.

6 Dusting of gold/yellow spots (1mm).

7 Velvet appearance.

Finrot (Mycobacteria sp.). mouthrot/mouth fungus (Flexibacter sp.) and cotton wool disease of aquarium fish. Anti Fungus & Finrot must be used as soon as diagnosis has been made to prevent the disease spreading and eventual fish death.

Diagnosing fungus and finrot

1 Red anus and fish bases.

2 Cotton wool-like growths on body.

3 Mouth and head regions eroded, often with cotton wool-like growths.

4 Fins eaten away.

5 Bloodstreaked fins.

Internal systemic bacterial infections (Pseudomonas, Aeromonas, Vibrio bacteria sp.) are a common cause of death in aquarium fish, previously only treatable with veterinry prescribed antibiotics.

Diagnosing Internal Bacteria

1 Swollen eyes.

A traditional aquarium water treatment acting against a variety of disease organisms.

Methylene Blue is one of the traditional treatments. It is used to treat a variety of fish diseases It should be noted that Methylene Blue can effect both plants and filters.

Snails are commonly found in most aquariums, sometimes however their numbers can reach nuisance proportions.

Snail Away is a safe, established solution, for effectively knocking out snails allowing their easy removal from the aquarium by Interpet gravel cleaner or similar.

Large higher level parasites can be introduced into the aquarium on new fish or plants. They cause life-threatening damage and should be eradicated quickly.

Anti Crustacean Parasite will eradicate anchor worm (Lernaea sp.) fish lice (Argulus sp.) gill maggots (Ergasilus sp.) and fish leeches (Psicicola sp.).

Diagnosing Crustacean Parasites

1 Flicking and rubbing against objects

2 Rapid gill movements

3 Red, irritated areas of skin.

4 Visible disc or worm-like parasites attached to the skin or fins

5 Maggot-like parasites visible on the gills.

Important Crustacean parasites are very difficult to eradicate so this treatment is powerful. Therefore, take care to carefully follow all instructions and note all warnings.

Swimbladder infections can occur in any aquarium fish and cause severe stress and death.

Swimbladder Treatment is a breakthrough product which cures bacterial swimbladder infections.

Diagnosing swimbladder disorders

1 Fish floats to surface unable to swim down.

2 Fish sink to bottom unable to swim up.

3 Fish unable to swim upright in the water. Fish rolls to either side.
