BACTERIAL INFECTION CAN TAKE MANY FORMS, AS MANY FORMS AS THERE ARE FORMS OF BACTERIA ATTACKING YOUR FISHES IMMUNE SYSTEM. MOST COMMON SYMPTOMS ARE ULCERS AND SORES OVER THE BODY. AND ROT ATTACKING TAIL, FINS AND MOUTH.
RECOMMENDED TREATMENT FOR MIXED SPECIES PONDS
'Bacterad'
Single dose pond water control of skin - gill flukes and bacteria that cause tail and fin rot, ulcers and sluggish behaviour of fish.
For specialised Koi treatment it is recommended that you use:
'Ulcer Swab'
Cleans and disinfects wounded and damaged skin. A powerful yet soothing antiseptic solution for wounds and ulcer treatment. Must be used with 'Wound Seal' to cover and seal the affected area if open to water penetration.
'Wound Seal'
A thick paste for sealing open wounds preventing osmotic shock and further stress Contains antiseptics and Aloe Vera to speed up the healing process, best used with 'Ulcer Swab' as a combined treatment regime.
'Acriflavin'
Acriflavin is a mild antiseptic, useful as a quarantine solution and to treat fish with fin-rot and ulcers. Acriflavin can be used in conjunction with 'Ulcer Swab' and 'Wound Seal' in the treatment of ulcers and other open wounds.
'Propolis'
Propolis is the waxy substance produced by bees to protect their hives from infection. Supplied as a thick, dark brown, liquid Propolis can be spread over cleaned and dried ulcers and wounds. When the fish is gently lowered back into the water contact with the Propolis instantly forms a waxy coating which sticks to the wound forming an antiseptic, waterproof barrier protecting the fish from osmotic shock and re-infection.
'B-D-S fluke treatment'
B-D-S is a fluke treatment providing a tried and tested formulation which treats both skin and gill flukes as well as bacterial disease such as fin rot, tail rot and ulcers.
